What are the Symptoms of Cancer You Should Never Ignore

 

There are various types of cancer and each can be associated with different signs and symptoms. In general, the most common signs include, night sweat, unexpected weight loss, unexplained appetite loss and pain in some areas of the body. Keep in mind that, this symptoms can also be caused by other medical conditions that are not related to cancer. You know your body better than anyone else. Listen to it, and speak up. Don’t be scared to report the tiniest change as early as possible.

  1. Bleeding.

Unusual bleeding can be associated with many forms of cancers. Blood in The Urine, can be a sign of kidney or bladder cancer. Blood discharge in a woman’s breast may signal breast cancer. Coughing up blood may indicate lung cancer(Coughs may include mucus and often last over eight weeks).  If you noticed bloody residue from your mouth or nose after coughing consult your doctor immediately.

Bloody stools can be a sign of colon or rectal cancer. Women  with cervical cancer may experience abnormal vaginal bleeding. Vaginal bleeding is the one of the most common signs of Invasive Cervical Cancer.

 

2. Being out-of-breath Consistently could be a sign of certain cancers.

 

3. Cough or Hoarse_Voice.

A Cough or Hoarse_voice  that doesn’t go away after many treatments, could be a sign of Lung, Thyroid or Larynx cancer.

 

4. Unexplained Weight Loss.

This is one of the most obvious cancer signs. Unexplained weight loss is often associated with Pancreas, Esophagus or Stomach cancer.

If you’ve lost more than 10 pounds over a short period of time without exercise or making changes to your diet, you should get checked out by a medical professional as soon as possible.

 

5. Pain.

When cancer has already spread, extreme pain throughout the body can be an early symptom of bone or pancreatic cancer.

 

6. Urinary or Bowel Changes.

Changes in bowel patterns such as, constipation or diarrhea, an increased need for urgent pee or difficulties passing out urine, can indicate an enlarged prostate or prostate cancer and colon cancer.

 

7. Severe Itching or yellowing of skin.

This Could be cirrhosis or it could be cholangiocarcinoma. First symptoms of Cholangiocarcinoma is often uncontrollable itching followed by jaundice as the tumor obstructs more and more of the ducts.

 

8. Consistent white or off color poo.

White Poo can be a symptom of Pancreatic Cancer.

Other possible Symptoms of Cancer Includes – 

  • A lump or thickening in the body, commonly in the breast
  • Discomfort after meals. (heartburn or indigestion that doesn’t go away).
  • Weakness or fatigue
  • A sore that never heals completely.
  • Breast skin that is itchy, red, scaly, dimpled, or puckered.
  • Consistent Nausea and Vomiting.
  • Fever or night sweats for no known reason.
  • Neurological changes like Headache, Dropping of the Face, Seizure, hearing or visual changes.

Early diagnosis allows for more effective treatment, it is important that everyone gets regular checkups. Early treatment can shrink or get rid of a tumor while stopping growth and spreading.

Because of the nature of cancer and its treatment, it is important to have regular tests to detect cancer long before you feel its effects. Being checked for cancer when you feel no symptoms is called “screening,” which may include a physical exam, lab tests, or other tests to check internal organs.
