Former speaker of the house of representatives Governor Chukwuemeka Ihedioha who became the governor of Imo state on may 29, 2019 is out to fix Imo after witnessing many failed public water systems, bridges built without iron rods, bank accounts which led to so much revenue leakages and state not making significant progress on internally generated revenue.
He also states that internally generated revenue base is low and weak and would definitely make them depend on what comes from federal allocation. With this, Governor Emeka has set up a financial advisory committee so as to reduce corruption. He is also seeking help from the federal government to help with the state infrastructures like roads, supports in agriculture, educations, building good institutions, healthcare and all facets of the state economy. According to him, he has discussed with Mr President about the issues of the state infrastructures and education and is happy with president buhari’s positive response.
